Ronald Janse | Fund Manager

Ronald joined Wire Group in 2019 as Fund Manager, responsible for the overall investment strategy, investments and team. During 12 years of global investing experience at FMO, Ronald has built up an extensive full-cycle deal experience, having performed due diligence on over 35 banks, PE funds, insurance companies and NBFI’s across four continents, closing 10 equity transactions (overseeing 25+) and 12 debt and mezzanine transactions. Previously Ronald set up and managed a team of 12 investment professionals within FMO, responsible for overseeing equity investments in 40 Financial Institutions and 10 Funds throughout global Emerging Markets. Ronald is an enthusiastic and entrepreneurial individual with solid analytical skills and is a strong believer in the fact that impact and sustainable financial returns must go hand-in-hand. Ronald holds a master’s degree in International Business (Finance) from Maastricht University.

Paul Helmsing | Private Equity Impact Investor

Paul joined Wire Group in early 2018 as an impact investment manager, further strengthening the investment team. Paul builds up his broad financial expertise at Rabobank. Paul before was active as Investment Manager Corporate Finance and was commercially responsible for managing, structuring and negotiating complex financial structures for private equity transactions in the Netherlands. Paul has in-dept knowledge within the field of private equity, financial structuring, due diligence and has successfully managed multiple leveraged finance/private equity transactions.

Puck Hegeman | Private Equity Impact Investor

Puck joined our team at the start of 2022! Puck is an experienced impact investor, with both academic and impact investment experience. Puck is currently finalising her PhD and previously worked for the Dutch Development Bank (FMO) during a period of 8 years, in which she was responsible for a.o. fund investments into impact funds in Emerging Markets. She lived in Latin-America and Africa, after which she moved to Norway to write her PhD thesis on the effects of the green transition on the role of venture capital. Puck also holds a master’s in Finance and Investments from the Erasmus University and is looking forward to moving back to the Netherlands with her husband and four children.

Diederik Wokke | Private Equity Impact Investor

Diederik joined Wire Group in 2022. He brings a combination of equity investment, entrepreneurial and impact related experience. Diederik started his career at European investment bank Kempen, where he worked in the equity capital markets team and was later responsible for providing investment advise to European institutional investors. Following this, he moved to Africa, where he worked for several start-ups in Kenya and founded the Rwandan office of a pan-African social enterprise focusing on implementing skills development projects for NGOs. Through these experiences, he gained extensive insight in the interplay between financial returns and positive societal impact. Diederik holds a master’s degree in Financial Law from Erasmus University Rotterdam.

Frederike Veenstra | Private Equity Impact investor

Frederike joined Wire Group in 2022 as impact investment manager in the WPMF investment team. She started her career at ING as a management trainee and further specialized in Private Equity financing and Corporate and Sustainable Investments. Here she has built her knowledge of analyzing potential targets, structuring suitable financing and negotiating documentation. Frederike holds two master degrees in Finance and Economics of Taxation from the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen. She is also a CFA Charterholder. 

Tera Terpstra | Investor Relations

Tera Terpstra co-founded Wire Group in 2010 and is a Managing Partner and passionate entrepreneur who wants to contribute to a balanced and just conscious economy. Over the years she has been instrumental in co-developing the full range of services and products that Wire Group is currently offering. She worked with 50+ families in the Netherlands and the U.S. and actively guided 20+ wealthy families & endowed foundations on their multiyear impact journeys.

Michiel Lenstra | Strategy and Impact Measurement

Michiel Lenstra is a partner at Wire Group since 2014, where he advises high-net-worth individuals and institutional investors on developing and implementing their impact investing strategies. He has written several in-depth impact investing theme analyses as a basis for developing a comprehensive theory of change. Through a number of engagements with global companies with significant externalities, Michiel has developed strong expertise on how social and environmental value can be calculated (impact measurement). 

Rutger Schreuder | Compliance and Impact Measurement

Rutger Schreuder joined Wire Group in early 2019. He has over 25 years of experience in building and managing investment portfolios across all asset classes at a wide variety of asset owners. Prior to joining Wire Group he headed the investment department at Anthos Fund and Asset Management, the asset management arm of the Brenninkmeijer family. Rutger’s key areas of responsibility are: to ensure we operate “in control”, to measure impact in collaboration with Michiel and to assist our clients in designing conscious wealth portfolios across asset classes.

Frits van der Have | IC Chair

As a serial venture capitalist social impact investor and serial entrepreneur, Frits is a highly experienced board member with a vast experience in early-stage and impact investing. He co-founded Wire Group in 2010 and since 2017 serves as chairman of the Internal Advisory Committee. Prior to founding Wire Group, Frits was the co-founder of Life Sciences Partners (LSP). He also co-founded Wire Group, Euroventures Ukraine and E2 Cleantech Participations. He is an active impact investor and member of the investment committees at multiple impact investment funds. 

Yvette Go | IC member

Yvette Go is an experienced Investment Professional with over 21 years’ track record of successfully identifying, building and developing business opportunities. She is the Founder and Managing Director of Go Responsible Investments. Go Responsible Investments is an advisory and angel investment firm, specializing in the fields of responsible, environmental and social impact investing. Prior to founding Go Responsible Investments, Yvette was the Head of Social and Environmental Impact Investments in the Venture Capital Team of the European Investment Fund. Before joining EIF, she worked at the cleantech VC firm SET Ventures for 7 years. She also co-led the fundraising for Shaerpa’s (now SI2) first social impact fund. Yvette currently works as a senior Investment Manager at Capricorn.   

Leo Derksen | IC Member

Leo Derksen is Co-Founder and Managing Director of CommonWealth Investments. CommonWealth Investments is an independent multi-family office with a special focus on private equity and real estate investments. Prior to founding Commonwealth, Leo was active in Corporate Finance and Capital Markets at MeesPierson and in product management at DSM. Next to his role at CommonWealth, Leo also serves as an advisory committee member on 2 boards for the Rijksdienst Voor Ondernemend Nederland (RVO). 

Machtelt Groothuis | IC Member

Machtelt Groothuis is Co-Founder and Partner at Social Impact Ventures NL and has deep experience in private equity and impact investing. Prior to founding Social Impact Ventures, Machtelt was a Director at 3i Group Plc and served in its European Buyout Team, where she focused on mid-market buyouts across the Benelux. She served as an Investment Manager at the Amsterdam Office of Taros Capital Holdings and AlpInvest Partners N.V. Prior to AlpInvest, she was employed at McKinsey & Company in Amsterdam and Beijing and worked on strategic and operational improvement projects in a range of sectors. 

Carolien Wegener | IC Member

Carolien Wegener has engaged in entrepreneurship & finance for development since 2001. As an intentional misfit to the overly financial & growth-driven corporate world & economy, she has been dedicated to paving the path for holistic finance and entrepreneurship since. She worked with three of the largest Dutch banks to get the subject across. Taking the holistic approach and personal awareness of system change have always been at the core of her activities. Carolien co-founded Wire Group in 2010. She is a heart-felt believer & co-creator of the Conscious Wealth movement.
